Staff person for Ministry with Youth – Thomas Dennett

David NelsonThomas has been at Langley United for as long as he can remember, probably since he was 4 or 5. When he was youth aged, he was very involved with youth ministry, particularly on a presbytery level. Thomas started working for the church when he was 16, as a cabin leader at Cultus Lake United Church camp, and has continued working for the church in some capacity since then. He has a substantial passion for faith centered summer camps, and many of his summers have been spent in a beautiful location contemplating some of life's biggest questions. As a youth, Thomas' absolute favourite youth event was May Retreat and he encourages all youth to attend. Currently Thomas also serves as the chair of the YAYA Board, a group dedicated to youth ministry on a presbytery level.

Recently, Thomas has acquired his Bachelors degree in Philosophy, as well as his certificate in Explorations, from Simon Fraser University. In the future he hopes to get a Master's of Public Policy, and specialize in policy regarding topics close to his heart such as youth and education.
