Baptism of Jesus=

In the earliest years of the Christian community, Epiphany was celebrated not = so much with the story of the Magi as with that of Jesus’ baptism. Jesus’ birth and the visit of the Magi celebrate God’s light bo= rn afresh into the world’s darkness. Jesus’ baptism, in which he experiences God’s anointing, begins his public ministry, and it is as= if this act has fanned the light into an even brighter flame.
