      You stri= ve to bring us out of the slavery of

      Yet, do we = not listen to other Gods?

      You saved u= s for abundant life.

      But, don= 217;t we keep turning instead to the gods

            of our culture – the successful career, the model family,

        &= nbsp;   the perfect body, the latest “stuff?”=

      You save us through the foolishness of cross.

      Why do we k= eep looking for signs that we are right?

            = (time fo= r silent prayer)

      Forgive our idolatry, Loving God, in the name

        &= nbsp;   of our crucified Saviour.    Amen=

Assurance of Pardon:

      = One:     We are forgiven by God’s grace,

        &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;   not through our own knowledge.

      All:  &n= bsp;   We are forgiven by grace,

        &= nbsp;           &nbs= p;   not by our hard work.

      One:     We are forgiven by God’s grace.
